This year we twinned with Aspire Preschool in Rwanda, our staff and parents collected resources which were sent to Rwanda to assist Peace who is the teacher there. The children and teachers of Aspire Preschool were delighted with the resources that they received, and we are looking forward to working together again in the future.
Forest School Spotlight
The McMillian charity, The World's Biggest Coffee Morning, we adapted our coffee morning this year and held a two-day cake sale outside the nursery entrance. Through your generous donations of providing some amazing homemade cakes, we managed to raise a total of £273 for this incredible cause, thank you.
For the fourth year our Harvest Festival Celebration supported the Trussell Trust – Epsom and Ewell Food Bank. We had amazing support again this year and the donations we received weighed in at 87.3kg, this will now be making a difference supporting our local community of people in need.
In November 2020, the LOFS children and staff team raised over £200 for Children in Need by dressing up in their PJ’s and face painting.
The Lullaby Trust Cake Sale in October, we would like to thank you for your generous donations, Little Oaks Forest School managed to raise £112.61 for this wonderful charity of which is very close to all our hearts at Little Oaks.
2019 Events and Fund Raising
London to Brighton Bike Ride 2019 - the Little Oaks Forest School Team, Suzanne, Hannah, Grace, Sam, Angela and Bob, managed to battle the strong head wind, light rain and the ‘Green Monster’ Ditchling Beacon and cycle 54 miles to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
Our Little Oaks Forest School Sports Day and Picnic Event took place in June over at the dog free area of Nonsuch Park, the winning team, yellow ‘Sunflowers’ won this year’s Sports Day Trophy Cup. It was a fabulous day for everyone involved and the whole community of Little Oaks Forest School enjoyed a picnic to round up this event, roll on Sports Day 2020! Carl the area manager from the British Heart Foundation joined us to assist with our chosen charity the BHF, we have raised well over £200.
Aesops Theatre Company came to visit Little Oaks Forest School in May to perform, 'Not such an Ugly Duckling' to the Rangers children. The Rangers children voted for this extracurricular activity with the monies they raised for the collection of sales from their Christmas production of the Little Red Robin Performance.
